Ben Smith
Creative Director
Ben has over 20 years-experience working with talent and developing, producing and delivering content for all of the major broadcasters. From premium factual such as Idris Elba: Fight School (BBC) and Bruno vs Tyson (Sky Docs) to high volume formats such as How to Build British (C4) Lost and Found in the Lakes (BBC1) as well as the record breaking order of over 200 hours of the C5 brand Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun. Ben has also created and led comedy and archive series such as Legends of Comedy with Lenny Henry (C4) and Last Laugh in Vegas (ITV1).
Paul Wood
Head of Development
Paul leads Development at Ty’r Ddraig and has been instrumental to commissions across the factual slate. His most recent commissions were for Channel 5 and C4 respectively, securing Freeform Productions their first ever commission for Channel 5 with Bomb Squad: Trigger Point (WT) and a 15-part series for C4 Lifestyle with Jasmine Harman’s Renovation in The Sun. During his time developing for regional companies like True North and Workerbee Paul has helped land many commissions for terrestrial broadcasters and streaming services, including – Yorkshire By The Sea (C4), Darcey Bussell’s Wild Coast of Scotland (C4), Luke Evans: Showtime (BBC), The Men Who Sold The World Cup (D+), Peter Crouch Save Our Beautiful Game (D+), The Real Death In Paradise (D+) and Harbour Cops (ITV) to name a few.
Ffion Jon
Series Producer
Ffion Jon is a multi-award winning producer and director with over 20 yrs experience, producing highly popular and memorable series such as ‘Ysgol Ni: Maesincla’ and ‘Ysgol Ni: Y Moelwyn’ for S4C. She has developed original formats for The BBC such as ‘The Exhibitionists’ and has extensive experience of developing sensitive access to organisations and individuals such as the S4C/ Hansh series ‘ GISDA’ focusing on vulnerable young people cared for by a charity for the homeless.
Elliot Fox
Researcher
As a researcher, Elliot works across development as well as on production - casting, shooting and editing – Ty’r Ddraig’s secret weapon and a human Swiss Army Knife! Joining the team as part of Channel 4’s Production Training Scheme, they’re rapidly developing new skills and has been able to learn a great deal from the hands-on experience of working across Ty’r Ddraig’s expanding slate of projects. Elliot is excited to grow and develop alongside the company.
